Stunning! - This beautiful, hallmarked silver & butterfly wing brooch is an absolute delight - in such excellent condition I am happy to call it near MINT. Stamped to the rear TLM Sterling, for Thomas Mott, who made this art of using natural butterfly wings to enhance jewellery. Set beneath a perfectly clear bevelled glass, and finely hand decorated to depict a paradise island scene. These fine pieces are becoming highly collectable and so difficult to find, TLM is renowned for his quality pieces that cemented their popularity following the Great Empire Exhibition in the 1920's - this is a fine example. Measuring 2cm dia, it has a simple c catch to the rear. As always a nice low start and no reserve.
