ART DECO SILVER & GUILLOCHE ENAMEL CIGARETTES CASE 1931 Exceptionally fine quality Art Deco solid silver and guilloche enamel cigarettes case, by Turner & Simpson, hallmarked Birmingham 1931. This Art Deco cigarettes case is made of solid silver and guilloche enamel, and is rectangular in form with bevelled sides. The front of the lid is decorated with very attractive large rectangular panel of blue guilloche enamel. The silver underneath the enamel is finely engraved to depict a sun rise. The four bevelled sides are each decorated with a thin panel of guilloche enamel. The reverse side is decorated with attractive engine turned engraving. The cigarette case has an opening clasp to the side, which is hallmarked with a lion passant. The interior is gilded, and has its original elasticated retaining strap to hold cigarettes. This interior is hallmarked on each side, to denote solid silver; Lion passant sterling silver mark. Anchor town mark for Birmingham. T&S for Turner & Simpson. Date letter 'G' for 1931. An exceptionally fine quality Art Deco solid silver and guilloche enamel cigarettes case. In superb condition; without damage or repair. Please see images. Height: 3 3/8 inches / 8.6 cm.
